==================================================
Scope
------
The biennial ECSQARU conferences constitute a major forum for advances
in the theory and practice of reasoning under uncertainty. Contributions
come from researchers interested in advancing the technology and from
practitioners using uncertainty techniques in real-world applications.
The scope of the ECSQARU conferences encompasses fundamental issues,
representation, inference, learning, and decision making in qualitative
and numeric uncertainty paradigms.
The 12th European Conference on Symbolic and Quantitative Approaches to
Reasoning with Uncertainty will be held in Utrecht, The Netherlands, on
July 8th10th, 2013. The organisers are proud to announce the conference's
keynote speakers:
- Philip Dawid, Statistical Laboratory, University of Cambridge, UK (provisional)
- Gert de Cooman, SYSTeMS Research Group, Ghent University, Belgium
- Simon Parsons, Department of Computer and Information Science, Brooklyn
College, New York, USA
Preceding the main conference, on July 7th, a tutorial programme will be
offered.
ECSQARU shares various themes with the ISIPTA conference, held in Compiegne,
France, the week before ECSQARU. To honour this special occasion, a reduced
fee for attendance of both events is offered, including bus transfer to
Utrecht. ECSQARU 2013 will moreover host a workshop on building bridges
between topics of the two conferences on July 7th.
