Subject: Ninth school of the Society for Imprecise Probability: Theories and Applications
(SIPTA), July 13-17, 2020, Liverpool, UK.
Dear All.
The school will run from Monday to Friday, 13 -17 July 2020. Pre-register here to
book your place.
We warmly invite all the students and researchers in imprecise probability (IP)
to participate. If you are new to IP and wonder what it is and whether youre interested, here is an introduction.
It is an exciting time to be part of the IP community because of the many challenges
we are faced with in modelling complex autonomous systems, and in making sense of experimental data.
This is a great opportunity to meet likeminded researchers, learn more about IP
and enjoy a set of extracurricular activities, including a characteristic pub crawl, football, and hiking.
The School will feature a number of speakers who are renowned leaders in their
field. The topics and speakers so far confirmed are:
 Game
theoretical decision theory, by Glenn Shafer
 Inferential
models, by Ryan Martin
 Uncertainty
communication, TBC
 Intro
to IP and credal sets, TBC
 Expert
aggregation, TBC
Lodging, lunches and refreshments will be provided to graduate/PhD students.
We have a simple webpage where
well be posting updates and information about the School, so book the dates in your calendar.
We are looking forward to meeting you in Liverpool.
Sincerely,
The Risk Institute Team.
