About the Special Collection

This Special Collection aims to present state-of-the-art theoretical developments and applications in dealing with various uncertainties, bringing academic and industrial practitioners together to tackle difficult problems of international concern.

Topics may include:

  • Aleatory and epistemic uncertainties in mechanical systems
  • Mixed uncertainty quantification and propagation
  • Lifecycle-based design optimization
  • Prognostics and health management of mechanical systems
