CALL FOR PAPERS (with apologies for cross posting)
CMMSE 2018: 18th International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Science and Engineering
July 9-14, 2018, Barcelo Costa Ballena Golf & SPA. Rota, Cadiz - Spain.
http://cmmse.usal.es/cmmse2018/
Dear Colleague:
We have the pleasure to invite you to participate and submit a contribution to the Special Session "Processing, modelling, and describing time series".
Time series are present in many common situations in life. For such reason, there is a great effort on research of this topic. Sometimes time series are treated directly as raw data using mathematical methods to obtain information from then. But, other approaches
develop mathematical models to represent then. Time series are modelled to find patterns and/or to study trends in the series. These representations allow to find patterns and trends. Another relevant line of research is the description of the series using
natural language. The aim of this special session is to provide an international forum the presentation of recent results in the research of this field.
A non-exhaustive list of topics includes:
Methods for processing time series represented as raw data
Structures to represent time series
Efficient modelling of time series
Querying time series
Linguistic description of time series
The final version of the highest quality papers presented at the conference will be selected for publication in a special issue of a ISI impacted journal. The following journals have agreed to consider publishing special issues provided there are enough
qualified papers:
Journal of Mathematical Chemistry, (Springer).
Journal of Supercomputing, (Springer).
Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences , (John Wiley & Sons).
Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, (Elsevier)
International Journal of Computer Mathematics, (Taylor & Francis).
Fullerenes, Nanotubes and Carbon Nanostructures, (Taylor & Francis).
Journal on Intelligent Industrial Systems, (Springer).
