We would like to share with you some news about IEEE SSCI 2021.
https://attend.ieee.org/ssci-2021/
IEEE SSCI 2021 will be run as a hybrid event on Orlando, USA, time zone. The main preliminary features are designed as follows (but might be subject to change):
- The format of each symposium will be preserved.
- Sessions will be comprised of virtual and physical speakers.
- All the presenters will be asked to provide recordings of the presentations in advance.
- All sessions will be broadcasted live including the plenary talks, welcome reception and conference dinner.
- The speakers of the virtual talks have to be available for Q/A in the Orlando time zone.
- We are intending to push towards a hybrid event, but the last decision can still be made in August to change to a fully digital conference (we have to pay around 31 T USD for cancellation of the venue).
- As for registrations fee and the number of participants:
- We have worked on a new model for registration fees. In order to give incentives for onsite participations, we have changed the registration fees and reduced the difference to be only 100 USD (for example
an IEEE Early Registration participant will pay 450 USD for digital and 550 USD for face-to-face). The worst case scenario is if we end up with a fully face-to-face conference. But from todays perspective, we do believe that this might not happen.
- We calculated 135 onsite and 370 digital participants.
- The preferences of participation will be asked by the submission to help us better estimate our budget and have an informed decision in August.
Thanks again and we do really hope to meet all of you in Orlando,
