Dear Friends,
At different conferences, many of you have heard talks by Scott Ferson
and others on p-boxes and other ways to combine interval and probabilistic uncertainty. Scott, the author of the concept of p-box and the most active researcher in this area, works for Applied Biomathematics (AB), a small research-oriented company loosely
affiliated with Stony Brooke University; see http://www.ramas.com/
At present, there is Facebook-based competition between small business for getting
special grants, see https://www.missionmainstreetgrants.com/rules
“Mission Main StreetSM
Grants is an effort by JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association ("Chase") to increase awareness of the important role small businesses play in local communities and to help small businesses grow. As evidence of the commitment to small businesses nationwide,
Chase will provide funds designed to enable an eligible established for-profit small business to use the Grant (defined below) to execute a business plan that will result in expansion and growth of the small business, including for example, a new location,
equipment, and product or distribution channel.”
Different small businesses across the US are competing for such grants, the criterion is
the number of interested folks who vote for a particular small business. Let us show our support for AB!
Votes are due this week.
