Dear Professor Augustin,

we would highly appreciate if you could you please be so kind as to distribute this information to potential PhD candidates who may be interested to work with us.

We have secured large scale funding (totalling 21 Million GBP) for a multi-disciplinary doctoral training centre with 76 PhD students over 8 years. We are looking for high-quality applicants for our first intake now.

Our projects are advertised at
http://www.liv.ac.uk/risk-and-uncertainty/postgraduat e/cdt-research-projects-available/
Application deadline is 30 June 2014!

This EPSRC and ESRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) on Quantification and Management of Risk & Uncertainty in Complex Systems & Environments runs under our Institute for Risk and Uncertainty in Liverpool.

The studentships are granted for 4 years and include: tuition fees + stipend of 13,726 annually over 4 years and in the first year, a Master in Decision Making under Risk & Uncertainty,. The projects include extensive collaboration with prime industry (co-supervised by industry partners and incl. several months secondments) to build an optimal basis for employability.
The studentships are very attractive with a much better budget than normal, and access to facilities, industry, summer schools, workshops, training courses etc

Please note that the scholarships are available only for UK/EU students.

Thanks a lot for your kind help and best regards

Michael
