Dear Professor Augustin,
we would highly appreciate if you could you please be so
kind as to distribute this information to potential PhD
candidates who may be interested to work with us.
We have secured large scale funding (totalling 21 Million
GBP) for a multi-disciplinary doctoral training centre
with 76 PhD students over 8 years. We are looking for
high-quality applicants for our first intake now.

This EPSRC and ESRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) on
Quantification and Management of Risk & Uncertainty in
Complex Systems & Environments runs under our
Institute for Risk and Uncertainty in Liverpool.
The studentships are granted for 4 years and include:
tuition fees + stipend of �� 13,726 annually over 4
years�� and in the first year, a Master in Decision
Making under Risk & Uncertainty,. The projects
include extensive collaboration with prime industry
(co-supervised by industry partners and incl. several
months secondments) to build an optimal basis for employability.
The studentships are very attractive with a much better
budget than normal, and access to facilities, industry,
summer schools, workshops, training courses etc
Please note that the scholarships are available only
for UK/EU students.
