The conference organizers plan to have a special session on Uncertainty Quantification (UQ) and Visualization in Scientific Computing.
All topics related to uncertainty quantification are welcome, including imprecise probabilities. The expected deadline for abstracts in June 30, 2013.
P.S. Please let us know ASAP, by email to Vladik(a)utep.edu and raromero2(a)utep.edu, if you are interested in attending, and, if possible, send a preliminary title of your talk. The organizers plan to apply to grant agencies for financial support for young scientists from Latin America and the Caribbean, and the larger the international participation, the better are the chances of getting such a support :-)

The Second International Conference on Applied Mathematics and Informatics (ICAMI'2013) will be organized during November 24 - 29, 2013 in San Andres Island, Colombia.
ICAMI'2013 will be hosted by the community of Colombian scholars, engineers and other specialists working in the field of applied mathematics and its adjunct areas, informatics and computer sciences.
The goal of ICAMI'2013 is to bring together mathematicians, engineers and other specialists from a variety of related disciplines, which are at the forefront of their research fields, to exchange original ideas and present high-level unpublished research in the areas of applied mathematics, informatics, and other related.
The conference will include plenary lectures, mini-symposia, peer reviewed contributed papers and a posters session. We will also publish an abstracts' book of all contributions presented at the conference.
The working language of the conference is ENGLISH.
However, special sessions in SPANISH can be organized upon formal request sent to the Section/Mini-symposium Coordinator for groups of 3-5 oral presentations within underlying Thematic Section or Mini-symposium.
At any case, all abstracts, slides and posters must be written in ENGLISH.
The purpose of ICAMI'2013 is not limited to the arrangement of enriching lectures, short communications and posters presentations. We consider equally important to create a pleasant environment in which the participants can discuss diverse topics of their professional interest with other delegates, make new friends and meet the old ones. We are confident that the participation in the conference will bring you valued professional and cultural experience.
Contributions with focus on the results of interdisciplinary projects and/or involving young researchers are especially welcome.
About San Andres island
The San Andres Archipelago is located in the Caribbean Sea, 720 kilometers northwest of the Colombian mainland. San Andres is the biggest island in this archipelago. Due to its ecosystem, biodiversity and beautiful landscapes, the UNESCO declared this archipelago in the year 2000 as Sea Flower Biosphere Reserve.
Many historians agree that the archipelago was discovered in 1629 by English Puritans and Jamaican woodcutters and was then conquered by the Spanish in the second half of the 17th century. For two hundred years the English, Dutch, French and Spanish disputed ownership. During that same period, the famous English pirate Henry Morgan used San Andres as his base of operations and according to legends, as a hideaway for his much acclaimed treasure.
A small mountain range, covered with coconut palms which rises to an elevation of 55 meters, crosses San Andres running north to south. The eastern shore is made of limestone deposits and white clay covered in part by coral sand carried in by the waves. The topsoil is thin and of a dark reddish color with frequent outcroppings of coral rock. The coral formation of San Andres, and particularly the reefs along the eastern shore, gives the sea an unbelievably beautiful array of colors.
The climate is stable the year around. The average temperature is around 27ÂșC, but cool breezes blow throughout the year.
