We invite all researchers interested in contributing to the event to submit proposals for Contributed Sessions.
The participation of young researchers and PhD students working in Italy or abroad is strongly encouraged.
A Contributed Session (CS) consists of four presentations by speakers invited by one or two organizers (organizers may also be among the speakers).
In the “Contributed Session” submission form, please include:
- The session title
- The names of the 4 speakers
- A short description of the session

Established in 2017, the Italian Meeting on Probability and Mathematical Statistics aims to bring together Italian and international researchers with shared interests in any field of probability and mathematical statistics, promoting the dissemination of recent scientific results and fostering academic exchange.
The first meeting was held in Turin in 2017. Since then, the meetings have taken place in Vietri sul Mare (2019), Bologna (2022), and Rome (2024).
The 5th edition, promoted by the PRISMA group (https://umi-prisma.polito.it/) of the Italian Mathematical Union (UMI), will be held in Palermo, Italy, from June 8 to 12, 2026, at the Campus of the University of Palermo, Viale delle Scienze, (https://probabilitypalermo2026.unipa.it/general-information/)

SI: Statistical Machine Learning and Bayesian Methods with Applications. Mathematics MDPI

Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to introduce a Special Issue on “Statistical Machine
Learning and Bayesian Methods with Applications”. The fields of
statistical machine learning and Bayesian analysis are rapidly
evolving, fuelled by theoretical and computational advances and an
increasing demand for interpretable, trustworthy, and adaptable models
in high-stakes applications. While machine learning has often been
developed and tested on benchmark datasets, it has already shown its
value in significant real-world applications and continues to hold
great untapped potential across domains such as spatial statistics,
survival analysis, healthcare, and environmental science.
This Special Issue seeks to highlight the synergy between modern
Bayesian methods, including hierarchical, nonparametric, and deep
probabilistic approaches, and statistical machine learning, with a
particular focus on enhancing the transparency, robustness, and
interpretability of predictive models. Contributions are encouraged
that demonstrate both theoretical innovation and application-driven
insights, providing proof-of-concept studies or real-world
implementations with clear originality and significance.
Key topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
Statistical approaches in machine learning: Frameworks integrating
statistical principles to improve generalization, stability, and
uncertainty quantification;
Interpretability and explainability: New methodologies to make
predictive models, including black-box models, more transparent and
understandable;
Flexible and robust Bayesian modeling frameworks;
Bayesian and probabilistic modeling for complex and structured data,
including methods for challenging inference problems and real-world
applications (e.g., spatial statistics, survival analysis, and
geostatistical modelling…);
Bayesian deep learning and probabilistic machine learning;
Application-driven machine learning: Innovative applications with
theoretical justification and demonstrable real-world impact;
Applications emphasizing validation, interpretability, and practical
significance.

These monthly events are open to anyone interested in IP, and will be followed by a Q&A and open discussion. They also provide an occasion for the community to meet, keep in touch and exchange between in-person events.

The IPMU conference is organized every two years with the aim
of bringing together scientists working on information processing and
the management of the many aspects of uncertainty. It also serves as an
ideal forum for the exchange of ideas between theoreticians and
practitioners in these and related areas.
The 2026 edition of IPMU will take place at the Faculty of Economics of
Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, in the nearby of the University city
of Rome and the main train stations (Termini and Tiburtina).
The 2026 edition of IPMU celebrates the 40th anniversary from the
first edition of the conference that took place in Paris, France. The
choice of Rome for this special occasion is not a case since Rome and
Paris are exclusively and reciprocally twinned, starting from April 1956.
Sapienza University of Rome is one of the oldest universities of the
world, being it funded in 1303 by Pope Boniface VIII, and is the largest
university in Europe.
Due to its strategic position, the Faculty of Economics allows to easily
reach the plethora of monuments, historic hot-spots and wonderful
sightseeing places that awarded to Rome the name of the Eternal city.
Get ready for discussing cutting-hedge research on methods for the
management of uncertainty and aggregation in one of the most beautiful
cities of the world.

CoProD'2026 is the eighteenth edition of CoProD. It will be held on
March 13, 2026, right before the Joint NAFIPS International
Conference on Fuzzy Systems, Soft Computing and Explainable AI and
10th World Conference on Soft Computing, El Paso, Texas, USA, March

Constraint programming techniques are important components of
intelligent systems. They constitute a declarative and efficient
methodology to represent and solve many practical problems. They
have been applied successfully to a number of fields, such as
scheduling of air traffic, software engineering, networks
security, chemistry, and biology. Despite the proved usefulness of
these techniques, they are still under-utilized in real-life
applications. One reason is the perceived lack of effective
communication between constraint programming experts and domain
practitioners about constraints, in general, and their use in
decision making, in particular.
Objectives of CoProD:
* To present advances in constraint solving, optimization, and
related topics;
* To develop a network of researchers interested in constraint
techniques, in particular researchers and practitioners that use
numeric and symbolic approaches (or a combination of them) to
solve constraint and optimization problems;
* To address the gap between the great capacity of these techniques
and their limited use.
CoProD aims at encouraging presentation and discussion of on-going
work. In particular, please note that there is room for
presentation of ideas, as opposed to results only. It also aims at
facilitating networking opportunities as well as
cross-fertilization between the approaches used in the different
attending communities. Therefore, besides active researchers in
decision making and constraint programming techniques, we expect
to have a wide attendance and participation of domain scientists
-- whose input is highly valued in this workshop.
Proceedings / Publication:
Submissions are expected in the form of extended abstracts of at
least 2 pages and ideally no more than 5 pages (a few more pages is
OK), formatted using the Springer edited book format, style file
svmult.cls and an example of using this file (not related to
CoProD) are attached to the workshop website.
Submissions have to be sent in pdf format AND LaTeX format to
mceberio [at] utep [dot] edu and vladik [at] utep [dot] edu. A
contact author should be specified in the submission email. The
deadline for submissions is December 24, 2025 (Let us know if you
need a few more days). Authors of accepted abstracts are expected
to participate and present their work at the workshop.
Participation / Submission:
Participation is encouraged from people doing research in the area
of decision making as well as from domain scientists. Submissions
of ideas are also encouraged.

We are delighted to announce that the 1st Workshop on Epistemic Intelligence in Machine Learning (EIML) will take place in conjunction with EurIPS 2025, this December in Copenhagen, Denmark. The workshop will bring together researchers to discuss the foundations and applications of epistemic uncertainty in machine learning.
We will soon be accepting non-archival submissions (4–6 pages, excluding references and appendices). The deadline for submission is 17th October 2025.

AIMS AND SCOPE:
This workshop seeks contributions from researchers across machine learning, statistics, philosophy of science, decision theory, and related disciplines to explore theoretical foundations, algorithmic innovations, and practical applications that center around epistemic uncertainty (EU). We welcome works-in-progress and mature research that address the central challenge of reasoning and decision-making under epistemic uncertainty. Specific topics of interests include, but are not limited to:
Representation and Measurement of Epistemic Uncertainty
Mathematical Frameworks for EU: Bayesian methods, imprecise probabilities, fuzzy logic, belief functions, possibility theory, etc.
Comparisons and formal properties of uncertainty representations
Evaluation criteria and benchmarking strategies for UQ methods.
Epistemic v.s. Aleatoric uncertainty: delineation and interaction.
Prediction Under Epistemic Uncertainty
Predictive models that capture and express EU: Bayesian models, evidential deep learning, credal models
Generalisation under distribution shifts, domain adaptation, and robustness analysis
OOD detection and safe prediction under model misspecification
Learning under partial or vague supervision
Decision-Making and Learning Under Epistemic Uncertainty
Risk-sensitive and ambiguity-aware decision-making frameworks
Uncertainty quantification in generative models
Active learning, Bayesian experimental design, and uncertainty-aware optimisation
EU in reinforcement learning, continual learning, and online learning setting
Integration of principled uncertainty models into large-scale architectures (e.g., transformers, diffusion models)
Scalable algorithms for traditionally intractable uncertainty models
We encourage both theoretical contributions and applied case studies. Submissions that challenge prevailing assumptions, propose novel benchmarks, or provide insights into the philosophical and foundational dimensions of uncertainty in AI are especially welcome.

The IPMU conference is organized every two years with the aim of bringing together scientists working on information processing and the management of the many aspects of uncertainty. It also serves as an ideal forum for the exchange of ideas between theoreticians and practitioners in these and related areas.
The 2026 edition of IPMU will take place at the Faculty of Economics of Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, in the nearby of the University city of Rome and the main train stations (Termini and Tiburtina). It celebrates the 40th anniversary from the first edition of the conference that took place in Paris, France. The choice of Rome for this special occasion is not a case since Rome and Paris are exclusively and reciprocally twinned, starting from April 1956.
Sapienza University of Rome is one of the oldest universities of the world, being it funded in 1303 by Pope Boniface VIII, and is the largest university in Europe. Due to its strategic position, the Faculty of Economics allows to easily reach the plethora of monuments, historic hot-spots and wonderful sightseeing places that awarded to Rome the name of the Eternal city. Get ready for discussing cutting-hedge research on methods for the management of uncertainty and aggregation in one of the most beautiful cities of the world.

The accepted long papers of IPMU 2026 will be published in the Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) series, by Springer.
GRANTS AND AWARDS
A number of student grants provided by EUSFLAT will be provided to support student participation at the conference. In addition, there shall be a number of awards for the best paper and best student paper at the conference.
