PhD Program in Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence: Foundations and Applications. The Università degli Studi "Gabriele d'Annunzio" Chieti-Pescara is seeking outstanding candidates for the new doctoral program of “Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence: Foundations and Applications”. Designed and delivered by seven partner universities—University “G. d’Annunzio” of Chieti-Pescara (UdA, Italy), Munster Technological University (MTU, Ireland), University of Oviedo (UNIOVI, Spain), Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA, Germany), Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași (TUIASI, Romania), South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk, Finland), and the University of Skövde (HiS, Sweden)—embedded within the framework of the INGENIUM Alliance of European Universities, the programme operates within a collaborative research environment that brings together expertise primarily from computer science, while also involving engineering, logic and mathematical analysis, physics, biology, economics, statistics and psychology. This environment fosters interdisciplinary dialogue and the development of scholars capable of contributing to the advancement of responsible, trustworthy, and human-centred AI systems. The educational pathway adopts an international co-supervision model, including mobility across partner institutions and potential collaborations with public and private international partners. This joint international PhD programme of advanced education and research is dedicated to the design, development, analysis, and evaluation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems that are aligned with human values, needs, and capabilities. It has been established in response to the rapid evolution of AI technologies and the growing awareness that technical performance alone is not sufficient: intelligent systems must also be transparent, trustworthy, explainable, fair, usable, and socially responsible. Questo contesto favorisce il dialogo interdisciplinare e la formazione di studiosi in grado di contribuire allo sviluppo di sistemi di intelligenza artificiale responsabili, affidabili e centrati sull'essere umano. Il percorso formativo adotta un modello internazionale di co-supervisione, che prevede periodi di mobilità presso le università partner e possibili collaborazioni con enti pubblici e privati a livello internazionale. Questo programma internazionale congiunto di dottorato, dedicato alla formazione avanzata e alla ricerca, è incentrato sulla progettazione, lo sviluppo, l'analisi e la valutazione di sistemi di Intelligenza Artificiale (IA) allineati ai valori, ai bisogni e alle capacità delle persone. È stato istituito in risposta alla rapida evoluzione delle tecnologie di IA e alla crescente consapevolezza che le sole prestazioni tecniche non sono sufficienti: i sistemi intelligenti devono essere anche trasparenti, affidabili, spiegabili, equi, usabili e socialmente responsabili. Dear colleagues, We have two contractual lecturer (2-3 year positions with possible extensions) positions opening at our laboratoryHeudiasyc, connected to SCAI Sorbonne Cluster for Artificial Intelligence. Both are connected to artificial intelligence and its use in different settings: * AI for industry and risk management (https://utc.recruitee.com/o/enseignant-chercheur-contractuel-fh-ia-pour-lin…) * AI for robotics (https://utc.recruitee.com/o/enseignant-chercheur-contractuel-fh-ia-pour-la-…) Beyond the concerned fields, those proposals are pretty open in terms of profiles: from theoretical to applied research, with topics that can cover planification, uncertainty handling, machine learning, explainability, etc. Do not hesitate to contact the people in charge given in the advertisements for further details, and I'll be happy to provide some information myself (to the extent of my knowledge). We would be particularly interested in candidates that would apply for a CNRS position in the upcoming years, using this position as a good opportunity to prepare such candidacies .
