We invite submissions of papers on Uncertainty in Artificial Intelligence, Bayesian Networks, Conditional Independence, Stochastic Analysis, Algebraic Statistics, Information-Theoretical Inequalities, Combinatorial Methods for Secret Sharing, Fuzzy Analysis, Machine Learning, Decision Theory, Management Science, and related fields. After notification of acceptance, full papers (maximum 12 pages) should be prepared using the WUPES LaTeX template. Authors of accepted papers are expected to present their work at the workshop. *Special Issue* After the workshop, a special issue of the international journal Kybernetika <https://www.kybernetika.cz/>(published by the Institute of Information Theory and Automation of the Czech Academy of Sciences) will be organized and dedicated to WUPES'25. All selected papers will undergo a regular review process. Kybernetika publishes freely available articles at no charge. Reflecting its focus on computer science, system engineering, applied mathematics, and related interdisciplinary fields, the journal has been indexed in Web of Science and Scopus since its founding in 1965. Here are all the important dates you need to know if you intend to submit a (long) paper: * Extended Submission deadline: 9th February (final) * First decision to authors: 28th March * Final decision (for papers needing revision): 18th April * Registration deadline: 1st June And, in case you still do not have time to prepare a proper paper, you are very much welcome to submit a one-page abstract to be presented as a poster * Poster submission deadline: 27th April, followed by a quick decision. Dear colleagues, We are delighted to announce our upcoming SIPTA online seminar on imprecise probabilities (IP). These monthly events are open to anyone interested in IP, and will be followed by a Q&A and open discussion. They also provide an occasion for the community to meet, keep in touch and exchange between in-person events. The next seminar will take place on the 3rd of February (Monday). Brian Hill is Research Director at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and CNRS Research Professor in the Economics and Decision Sciences at HEC Paris. He is also Academic Director of the Inclusive Economy Centre in the Sustainability & Organizations Institute (S&O) at HEC Paris. He has been the recipient of the CNRS Bronze Medal for early-career researchers, one of the most prestigious French science award. One of his recent research programs has focused on what counts as a rational reaction to severe uncertainty or “ambiguity”. His research also focuses on important societal issues, such as how to reduce inequality and the role of uncertainty in environmental policies. On the 3rd of February, at 15:00 CEST:paris time (up to 17:00 CEST, with a talk duration of 45min/1h), he will talk about "Confidence in beliefs in rational policy making”. Curious? ISIPTA 2025 - second call for paper

Dear colleagues, The deadline to submit long papers to ISIPTA, which is the 2nd of February, is fast approaching! The International Symposium on Imprecise Probabilities: Theories and Applications is the premier international event dedicated to the exploration of imprecise probabilities, providing a platform for both theoretical advancements and practical applications. ISIPTA also has a strong tradition of favouring discussions among its participants. To do so, accepted contributions will be presented and discussed in two separate sessions. The first session features presentations that are short and plenary. The second, longer session is devoted to detailed explanations and discussions that are face-to-face and rely on whichever medium you prefer – but having a poster is encouraged – so as to favour interaction among participants. ISIPTA will also welcome a number of renowned keynote speakers: • Carole Bernard (Grenoble École de Management & Vrije Universiteit Brussel) • Itzhak Gilboa (Hautes Études Commerciales de Paris) • Peter Grünwald (Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica & Leiden University) • Jan Obłój (University of Oxford) We invite contributions on all aspects of imprecise probabilities, a term encompassing a wide range of mathematical and statistical models that quantify uncertainty without the restriction of precise probabilities. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, sets of probability measures, partial preference orderings, game-theoretic probability, choice functions, interval probabilities, risk measures, nonlinear expectations, belief functions, and possibility theory. We accept two types of submissions: full papers and one-page abstracts. The submission deadlines are February 2nd, 2025 for full papers and April 27th, 2025 for one-page abstracts; additional important dates like notification of paper acceptance will be communicated in due course. Submission is through the EasyChair platform following the instructions on the conference website for formatting guidelines. All contributions will be made available on the conference website. Papers will be published in the Proceedings of Machine Learning Research, although authors have the option to opt out of publication. Registration is free for non-tenured scholars with accepted submission, and € 200 for tenured faculty with accepted submission. The fee for scholars without accepted submission and industry participants is € 600. The registration fee includes lunch, coffee breaks, social dinner, and participation in the social event. Erik Quaeghebeur is Assistant Professor at the Eindhoven university of technology, Netherlands. Erik is well known within the world of imprecise probabilities, as he started his career with making many foundational contributions to statistic and decision with imprecision, to then complement it with impactful works on the optimisation of windfarms. Among other topics, he is currently working on developing probabilistic circuits and their imprecise counterpart.
