Each paper that is accepted is presented both (i) in a plenary session, meant for a short introduction and a sketch of the context and relevance; and (ii) in a poster session, where ample time is given for in-depth explanation and discussion. The poster-only track provides a second, free format presentation option. It is also open for preliminary results, challenges, etc. *New: non-proceedings papers* To adapt to different publication cultures in different fields, we introduce a new option: the non-proceeding papers. Authors may request that their contribution is not published in the proceedings in case this precludes later publication of an expanded journal version. Dear Friends in Imprecise Probability, Recently Alessio Benavoli and I have published a paper in Statistics, a journal from Taylor & Francis group; the paper is concerned with using prior near-ignorance in the multivariate exponential family. Apart from a certain pride and self-promotion, the other reason why I am writing this email to the list is to advertise the name of the journal to our community. As some of you will be aware, publishing an imprecise probability paper in a traditionally oriented statistical journal can be horribly tough; this is the case even if we use the traditional statistical language and take all the possible care to prevent criticism. I am thinking in particular of the papers that have the potential to affect the statistical practice rather than the purely theoretical papers. So to me it is good news that there exist some statistical journals (at least one) for which we are complete outsiders, that can eventually accept our papers. This is not to say that it will be easy, just possible. In fact in our case it has been quite difficult to convince the skeptical reviewers to make the paper go through. If you have had a good experience with some statistical journal of the above type, you could consider sharing such information through this list as well, so as we all can be aware about the possible venues (as opposed to the impossible ones) for our statistical papers. Contributions come from researchers interested in advancing the technology and from practitioners using uncertainty techniques in real-world applications. The scope of the ECSQARU conferences encompasses fundamental issues, representation, inference, learning, and decision making in qualitative and numeric uncertainty paradigms. The 13th European Conference on Symbolic and Quantitative Approaches to Reasoning with Uncertainty will be held in Compiègne, France, on July 15th-17th, 2015. Publication ----- In accordance with the previous conferences, the proceedings of ECSQARU 2015 will be published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Articial Intelligence series. Authors are requested to prepare their conference papers in the LNCS/LNAI format; papers must not exceed 10 pages and must be submitted as PDF electronically. Submitted papers will be evaluated by peer reviews based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. Authors of accepted papers are expected to attend the conference to present their work. Extended version of selected papers will appear in a special issue of the International Journal of Approximate Reasoning.
